Here, I am sharing with you those simple hacks which will not only help you in losing weight but also assist you in leading a healthy and fit life.
1. Ditch the elevator
In today’s fast paced life we have got lot of facilities that are making our life easy but along the side making us slaves of the same as well. We can’t walk even a few steps to get something for us or you can say we don’t want to.
The first step towards fitness you need to take is to ditch the elevators and escalators.
We have these facilities available at offices, malls, shopping complexes, metro stations, airports, railway stations etc. But I would suggest you to use stairs as much as possible. Once you start using stairs you will certainly be able to burn lot of calories.
There are many benefits of using the stairs starting from burning of calories, weight loss, strong legs, strong joints to healthy heart and healthy lungs.
2. Switch from simple to complex
Don’t worry I am not asking you to switch your life from simple state to complex state. It only means switching of simple carbohydrates (refined wheat flour, white rice, sugar, candy etc.) to complex carbohydrates (whole wheat flour, brown rice, rolled oats etc.)
The benefit of replacing simple carbs to complex is to get enough fiber which keeps you full for longer time. Also, these foods don’t spike insulin which results in weight gain.
3. Protein in every meal
Protein is an essential nutrient of our daily diet. It doesn’t matter whether you work out or not. People often think that protein is only required for body builders or gym freaks. But your body uses protein to build and repair tissues. Protein is an important building block of bones, muscles, cartilage, skin, and blood.
Protein also helps in weight loss as it decreases your hunger and makes you full for longer period of time. A high protein intake also boosts your metabolism and makes you burn more calories around the clock which aids in fat loss.
4. 5 to 6 meals a day
Most of us have a habit of eating 2-3 times a day which slows down our metabolism rate and eventually lend us in weight gain state. It is really important to eat 5-6 meals a day in order to keep the metabolism buzzing that will eventually help you in fat loss.
You can have the 5-6 meals as breakfast, morning snacks, lunch, evening snacks and dinner.
5. Portion Control
Along with eating 5-6 times a day you need to follow portion control strategy so you have to eat in smaller portions every time. The benefit of the same is to save you from overeating and high cravings for high calorie food.
6. Vegetable and fruits
Adding vegetables and fruits to your diet not only provide you the required amount of fiber but also supply the essential nutrients like vitamins and minerals to your body. As mentioned, fiber helps in reducing the hunger which supports in weight loss management.
I would suggest having 1-2 servings of fruit as a snack and 2-3 servings of vegetables along with the main meals to keep your craving lower for carbs.
7. Walk atleast for 30 Minutes
You should choose 30 minutes of walk as one of your daily habit. It always gives you a feeling of sticking to some kind of fitness regime. Walking also prevents or manages various medical conditions, such as heart disease, high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes. Daily walking burns a lot of calories and also strengthens the bones and muscles resulting in weight loss.
A bit of change in daily habits will lead you to a healthy and fit lifestyle. Start with the above habits so that you can shred your extra weight and live a better life. All these habits would not cost much efforts or money. No excuse can justify the ignorance of these simple hacks. Start with only one hack first and then keep adding others to your routine.
