How to Lose Weight During Covid-19 Quarantine

As you all know that the whole world is fighting with Covid- 19 these days and we, being responsible citizens, are contributing our share by staying at home (indoors) so that it doesn’t get spread and affect people.

So while staying at home, you tend to munch frequently and probably face craving for eating more. This also contains a lot of junk as well as your favorite meals in a continuous frequency.

So now the question is how to prevent weight gain during this quarantine and stay in shape. I am suggesting you a few measures that would really help you in maintaining your weight and physique.

1. Stick to a Routine

I know most of you are working from home and trying hard to be productive for your organization. Of course, you are following a kind of routine but here the question is-

Are you following the same routine as you follow at office? The answer may be yes or no.

The other question arises what about all of you who are not working from home or have very less office work due to the quarantine period.

Are you having any routine to follow? I have something for you.

Here, what I would like to suggest is to follow a particular routine whether you have work in your plate or not. If you don’t have any office duties then you can probably build a new habit and learn something new every day and it can be related to your interest e.g. music, dance, reading, learning new technology, etc.

These habits or routine will keep you engaged and focused which results in less craving for food which finally supports you in maintaining your weight.

2. Encourage Everyone to Eat Healthy

While we all are going through a lock down due to this pandemic- Covid-19, we should encourage everyone to eat healthy in the family. This will boost the immunity as well as keep your calories intake in control. Calorie control yields in weight loss. Needless to say this will build a good habit of eating clean during this lock down.

3. Cook Meals At Home

Looking at the current situation it is strongly advised to cook your meals at home. Don’t order food from outside. Outside food may harm you in both the ways.

First, undeniably it will prevent you to get in touch with outside people which keep you safe from the Novel Corona Virus. Other obviously you can have a healthy food at home.

4. Practice Some Home Workout

Yes, it is a pain for many people that gyms and health centers are closed these days. But it is no more a suffering if you dedicate 45 minutes to an hour for home workout. Probably you can consider it as a time pass activity as you don’t have anything to do at home. There are plenty of benefits of working out a home.

It is not necessarily to have dumbells at home to perform exercises. You can do some bodyweight training like Pushups, pull ups, free squats, lunges, burpee, planks, crunches, leg raise etc. In fact you can try yoga at home. This will certainly burn a lot of calories and aids you in weight loss.

And do remember, if you can’t take out even 45 minutes for yourself in a day of 24 hours, whatever else you are doing is just a waste.

5. Drink Plenty of Water

Another important point is water intake. Definitely it is important in non-quarantine days as well. There are enough gains of drinking water in good quantity throughout the day. Sometimes we misunderstand the need of water in our body and try to replace it with food which eventually outcomes in having extra meals and leads to weight gain. So whenever you feel like having something to munch drink half or a glass of water to reduce the desire for eating extra. Also, it flushes out toxins from body and helps you in losing weight.

6. Fasting

This can be another way to keep you away from food. You can plan for 1 to 2 days of fasting in a week depending upon your comfort. Fasting can help significantly improve your immune system and give you extra protection. Along with the same it can elevate your mood by making your inner system at ease during the day. 1 to 2 days of fasting will keep you caloric deficient and assists you in losing the weight.

Conclusion

It is important to stay at home these days to prevent ourselves with the dangerous virus but it is also equally important to take care of your body by maintaining a healthy weight while staying indoors. Increase in weight is inviting a lot many diseases to your body so keep yourself safe by leading a healthy lifestyle. Stay home, Stay Safe and maintain a healthy lifestyle
